“Our ward is always doing creative things to provide for the needs of the sisters. We have held fairs where several different areas are covered to help a woman feel better about herself. Most women respond well to that.
Upon the death of a spouse, the Relief Society sorted through the deceased person’s clothes to create quilts to be passed onto the children. All of the sisters came out to tie these quilts. The feelings that came from this activity were enriched with love for the families involved.
Typically, in any given ward, there is a person who is on fire, capable of pulling off extraordinary activities. All you really need is an organizer who is willing to pull together an activity. Because, when something is organized, the sisters respond. At least they should, because we are all in this together; therefore, by helping one another, we help ourselves.”
