Not all of us can attend Women’s Conference at Brigham Young University. I have to confess I haven’t been in years. While checking out the sight recently, I saw how they are making it more available to everyone everywhere.
You can follow this link: ce.byu.edu/cw/womensconference/home.cfm , or another way is to go to www.byu.edu (BYU’s main page) and do a search for Women’s Conference. Once you get onto their page, look for Post Conference Information.
You will find transcripts from the main talks given that you can copy off and read. They will also have handouts or powerpoint presentations given in some of the more popular classes. They are detailed enough you can figure them out and work them into any lesson you are doing in church, or use as help in your own life.
They also had something that I thought was pretty interesting. There is a display area every year where people share ideas on various topics. On this page, you will find a virtual tour of these displays with their printable handouts. Some of these looked pretty good for family use and various auxiliary activity uses.
They have 2009 up already. They also have past years available, in part.
It has always bothered me that Utah women tend to have more available to them from the General Board, just because of proximity. The Internet allows us to connect and share so much more with one another.
Talks given at conference and church universities can be printed and studied. The word of God, as spoken through His servants, through the decades are available if we but take the time to look for them, read them, study them, and live them.
Be sure to take a look at my References page and my Quotes page. I can’t believe the great talks that have been given over the years, and then forgotten. I have enjoyed so much the opportunity to discover them again, read them, and pull out things that I need to hear. I hope you will find comfort, as well as a little motivation, as you read them too. Check out the Women’s Conference site and see what ideas are waiting to build you up and move you forward in life.
Thanks for passing that info on!
