I found my list of 101 grateful things for 2008 and decided it was time to get started with my 2009 list. Last time it took two sides of one page, two columns each, squeezing, minimizing, and making it fit.
This time I’m going to use as many pages as I need to explain why I’m thankful. I’m also not going to cheat and use up my list with small, similar STUFF. I can bunch those all together as one. I am determined to show the Lord that I am grateful in my spiritual life, my temporal life, my mental life, and my physical life.
So, I’m going to need the entire month to really dig deep and fill my list.
In glancing through my list from last year, I’ve already seen how my life has changed. How new experiences have strengthened me, how former “important” things are no longer that important, how my goals, interests, even viewpoints have changed somewhat.
I’m grateful for my previous list because it gives me a snapshot of what I was going through at the time, what was important to me, and even if I have remembered my thankfulness. Hey, I guess that will be Number 1 on my new list. (See my post-A Heart Full of Thanksgiving.)
