There are many paintings, sculptures, and depictions of Christ. Some are just beautiful, others not so much. I thought, as a celebration of Easter, I would share some of my favorites of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
I really love how she depicts him here. A mixture of strength and tenderness.
His face shows an eager love.
Again, beautiful tenderness with eyes that see me.
People have worshipped Him for a very long time.
When I saw the original at BYU’s Museum of Art, I stood there with tears in my eyes. Something about the placement of the angel’s hand fills me with love as they lean into one another.
Let us never forget.
He suffered death for each individual whether we care or not. I, like those in the painting, care.
Triumphant over death.
He cares for each individual. We have been commanded to Come Unto Him, but for those who have, we willingly bow and worship Him.
He comes carrying all the stains of the world. He is our Rescuer, our Sufferer, our Salvation.
He stands before the world as Servant, Judge, and Redeemer of the World.
Some of His names are Everlasting, Righteousness, Endless, Almighty, Redeemer of Mankind.
May we all remember the true, and precious, meaning of EASTER.
