Last Sunday we had a lesson on how to keep feeling the spirit throughout the week. It’s an interesting question as we go about our busy lives, struggling just to keep up with a burning schedule. But isn’t that really what Satan wants us to think?
If we don’t make time for the spirit what is the point of everything else?
Here is what our chalkboard looked like when class was over, but there are so many other ideas that could have been listed. Someone mentioned Indexing, but we could have just as easily mentioned family history, preparing and stocking up for emergencies, showing love to our spouse and children, serving others near and far, and magnifying our callings.
What strengthens you and helps you feel the spirit during the week, and from week to week?
I listen to Mormon Tabernacle Choir CD’s to bring the spirit into my heart, or the church cds of hymns. Music calms me and drives out angry feelings better and faster than anything else.
It’s true. Even just memorizing a hymn and getting that melody in your head helps dissipate some of the worst parts of life.
