I hope you were filled, like I was, after hearing the Women’s Conference last night.

Sis. Eubank brought up, again, that quote from Pres. Kimball telling us of the influence we, as the Relief Society sisters, can have on the world. The fact that this prophecy is being referred to so many times tells me we need to pay attention and change. We were reminded that God is depending on us to be RIGHTEOUS, be DIFFERENT, be DISTINCT,  and to be HAPPY while we’re doing it.

The idea of “repairing the breach,” I thought, was so profound. Sis. Marriott said sin and pride cause a breach between us and God. We need to learn to do things “His way, instead of pridefully asserting our own will.” That is a tough call, but deep down we know what that looks like, and we have all been called to repentance.

In defining the words worth and worthiness, Sis. Jones explained, “They are not the same. Spiritual worth means to value ourselves the way Heavenly Father values us, not as the world values us. Our worth was determined before we ever came to this earth. On the other hand, worthiness is achieved through obedience. If we sin, we are less worthy, but we are never worth less.” Our worth is intrinsic, our worthiness is our choice.

President Uchtdorf talked about three types of attitudes: The sad person is always going to be a victim of her circumstances. The hater will always find something to complain about. But the glad person is the “authentic disciple.” What an interesting description, using a worldly term–being one’s “authentic self”–in a spiritual way. We are REAL when we are truly glad, grateful, and genuine.

All of these talks reminded me that I have a responsibility. In this extremely busy life, we are all living, we can’t escape the responsibility of being the daughters of our Heavenly Father. He has a work for us to do outside of the daily grind we are living. The end of the world is fast approaching. If we aren’t figuring out how to be His daughters, strengthening ourselves and one another while bringing others into the fold, we will be left behind. And no one wants that, especially our Father in heaven or our Savior, Jesus Christ.

It is on our shoulders to do His work, to perform His will, and to be happy while doing it.
